There is important news for Central Government employees who have not yet completed their mandatory courses on the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
The Government has once again extended the deadline for completing mandatory courses and Comprehensive Assessment for the reporting year 2025–26.
Now employees have time till 30 June 2026 to complete the required courses and assessment. However, there is an important condition attached to this extension. Employees must complete these requirements before submitting self-appraisal to the reporting officer, whichever happens earlier.
Why Has The Government Extended The Deadline?
Many employees were struggling to complete mandatory learning requirements within the earlier deadlines.
The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) stated that this extension has been provided mainly to synchronize course completion timelines with revised APAR submission timelines. In simple words:
APAR timeline changed → therefore mandatory course timeline also changed.
What Exactly Has Changed?
Earlier, employees were required to complete:
- At least 50% of prescribed mandatory courses
- Comprehensive Assessment
- Complete requirements within previous deadlines
Now the revised deadline becomes:
New Last Date:
30 June 2026
OR
Before submitting self-appraisal to Reporting Officer
Whichever comes first.
Who Needs To Complete These Mandatory Courses?
The rules mainly apply to:
- Central Government Employees
- Officers of All India Services (AIS)
- Ministries and Departments covered under APAR-linked course requirements
- Officials required to complete iGOT Karmayogi training modules
The completion status of these courses is linked with APAR-related processes, making them important for employees covered under these guidelines.
Why Should Employees Avoid Waiting Till The Last Date?
Many employees make the mistake of waiting until the final week.
This can create problems like:
Server Congestion
Large numbers of users logging in together can slow down the platform.
Delayed Completion Reflection
Sometimes completed courses may take time to reflect.
APAR Submission Problems
Missing course completion before self-appraisal submission may create complications.
Earlier communications also advised employees not to wait until the final days because heavy traffic may affect the platform experience.
What Is iGOT Karmayogi?
The iGOT Karmayogi platform is part of the government’s capacity-building initiative designed to improve skills, training, and competency among government employees.
Through this platform, employees complete:
- Mandatory Courses
- Learning Modules
- Skill Development Programs
- Comprehensive Assessments
These activities have increasingly become connected with performance assessment systems.
What Should Employees Do Now?
If you still have pending courses:
Step 1:
Login to iGOT Karmayogi Portal
Step 2:
Check your prescribed APAR-linked courses
Step 3:
Complete minimum required courses
Step 4:
Appear in Comprehensive Assessment
Step 5:
Verify completion status before APAR submission
Completing everything early can help avoid unnecessary last-minute stress.
Final Words
The extension till 30 June 2026 gives relief to thousands of employees who were unable to complete their mandatory learning requirements earlier.
But remember:
This is an extension—not an exemption.
Employees should use this additional time wisely and complete their pending courses before the self-appraisal deadline arrives.
If you have not started yet, this is probably the best time to finish everything rather than waiting for another extension.
